Re: 'Ghosts of WA Inc return' (24 February 2007)

I read the 'Ghosts of WA Inc return' with interest at the weekend.

In the article by Ben Spencer, Graham Mason and Mark Drummond it was stated "Greens MP Giz Watson used the crisis to talk of blocking supply."

My comment was a response to a direct question from your reporter Graham Mason who told me both Max Trenorden and Paul Omedei had raised the possibility of blocking supply and asked me what position the Greens would take.

I was neither "using the crisis" nor talking malevolently about the possibility of "blocking supply."

I would like to clarify the Greens WA position regarding the role of the Legislative Council is to review not only legislation but also the actions of Departments and Ministers

The Greens WA will continue to uphold transparency and accountability in government.

Yours sincerely
